MINORITY RACING ASSOCIATION
MINORITY RACING ASSOCIATION INC. IS A FLORIDA BASED NON-PROFIT 501C3 CORPORATION. WE ARE GEARED TO HELP MINORITY STUDENTS STAY IN SCHOOL AND OBTAIN THEIR HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMAS. AS AN INCENTIVE TO STAYING IN SCHOOL WE ARE GIVING THEM A RACING PROGRAM TO TEACH THEM THE FUNDAMENTALS OF TEAM WORK, WHERE THEY WILL HELP BUILD RACE CARS, AND THEN RACE THEM . THE PROGRAM WILL KEEP STUDENTS WITH LOW GPAS FROM DROPPING OUT OF SCHOOL BY GIVING THEM A SAFE, HEALTHY, ENJOYABLE, AND PRODUCTIVE LIFESTYLE. THEY WILL LEARN ALL ABOUT RACING AND AUTOMOBILE SERVICE EXCELLENCE. WE ARE PARTNERED WITH BETHUNE COOKMAN UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF BUSINESS TO PROVIDE ALL THE HELP WE CAN TO MAKE THESE STUDENTS SUCCESSFUL.
Objective
Our main objective is to help High School students obtain their High School Diplomas. We want to find students from High Schools to start the program. We will provide these students with computers in the shop and all the tools they need to be successful. We plan to have an after school tutoring program for them with the help from other High School students as well as students from Daytona State College, Bethune Cookman University, and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Our second objective is to give the students a racing program. First we will teach them all about safety. Then the students over 18 will all be licensed with SCCA, that way they will all be covered under the racing organizations insurance. We want to teach them how to research and order their own parts for the race cars, and their own personal cars. We will have the students strip down the cars and then send them out to have roll cages welded in. The students will be learning basic mechanic work supervised by mechanics and other adults. We will have one adult for every four students. They will learn brakes, tires, wheels, oil changes, tune ups, paint and body and chasse set up. We hope to have ASE specialists come in to train them. The students will also learn how to do diagnostics on computers. Once the cars are built, the students will be taken to driver school before they drive on track. We are trying to get professional race car drivers to come and speak to them and give them pointers. These students will all go thru a fitness and wellness check by professionals, because race car drivers and there crews are athletes. Motorsports Racing is a proven effective tool for profitable and exciting advertising that reaches valuable targeted consumer markets. Companies that sponsor race teams have found that advertising on moving billboards helps increase their sales, build brand loyalty, and increase their profits. It also develops team spirt in the work place.
